(gentle music) - A job was never posted. There was never a job posting. There was never a job description. It was literally my buddy was like, "I need help. "When can you start?" And that's exactly how this happens in this industry, especially in cybersecurity.
- And, you know, every job that I've had since college, every single one without fail, has been a product of networking, even if it wasn't directly at that moment in time, but somebody contacting me down the line about an opportunity. So I think it's a very important skill that one needs to develop.
- So I think regardless if you're interested in something or not, just go, okay. Like, go meet people, introduce yourself. Let people know who you are, what you're passionate, you know, about, because these are people that you could rely on in the future, and they may need you someday.
And you definitely wanna be known as somebody that people can rely on.
- It goes back to the old saying, it's not what you know, it's who you know, right? Well, who you know gets you in the door, but what you know, keeps you there. (gentle music)
