Privacy policy

Last updated 12 October 2026

We built Puzzicle for children, so we follow Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and, for families in those places, the UK Age Appropriate Design Code (Children's Code), UK and EU GDPR, and the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We collect as little as we can, never sell data, never show adverts, and give parents control.

Who we are

Puzzicle Pte. Ltd. is the data controller for Puzzicle. Contact us at privacy@puzzicle.org.

What we collect

DataWhyLawful basis
Parent's name and emailTo run the parent account and contact you about your children's learningContract
Child's first name or nickname, class and batchTo place them in a class and batch and show their timetableContract, with parental consent for under-13s
Progress and answersTo show progress to the learner and their parent, and batch results (as counts, never names)Contract
Technical data such as device and browser type, and error logsTo keep the service secure and workingLegitimate interests

We do not ask children for their surname, address, school, photo, location or date of birth, and we don't use their data for marketing or profiling.

Who sees what

  • Parents see everything about their own children.
  • Batchmates see a learner's first name and how many study parties they've finished. They see how the batch answered as totals only, never who chose what.
  • Organisers of a class (for example a co-op) see the names and progress of learners in their class.
  • Service providers who host and run Puzzicle for us process data only on our instructions.

Videos play from Khan Academy's content network (cdn.kastatic.org), which receives the technical information any website receives when it serves a video. When a video is only on YouTube, we use youtube-nocookie.com.

How long we keep it

Account and progress data is kept while the account is active and deleted within 30 days of a request to close it. Technical logs are kept for up to 90 days.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete personal data, or object to how we use it. Parents can exercise these rights for their children. Email privacy@puzzicle.org. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to people who need it, and we review our security regularly.

International transfers

If data is transferred between countries, we use the safeguards the law requires, such as contractual clauses under the PDPA and the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or EU standard contractual clauses.

Changes

We'll update this page when anything changes and tell parents about significant changes.
